    Care

Moldavite is, quite literally, a stone born from a cosmic cataclysm.

Around 15 million years ago, a meteorite struck what is now Germany with immense force.

The heat of the impact melted rock and hurled it hundreds of kilometers through the air, where it cooled into green glass.

It is the only gem-quality tektite in the world.

Its name comes from the Vltava River (Moldau in German) in Czechia—the only place where it naturally occurs.

In South Bohemia there was a lovely tradition: the groom would gift the bride a moldavite as a “stone of love.”

Its naturally wrinkled, etched surface makes it unmistakable.

Unfortunately, it’s also frequently imitated with cast green glass—so authenticity is a value in itself.

Its color ranges from forest to olive green, translucent, with a distinctive natural texture.

Associated with deep transformation and spiritual connection, Moldavite is considered by many to be an intense stone.

With a hardness of about 5.5 and a glass-like structure, it’s relatively fragile and can chip—so it deserves careful handling. Its unique look is beautifully showcased in 925 sterling silver.
