About the stone

Morganite is the third “sibling” in the beryl family, alongside emerald and aquamarine. Its delicate pink hue comes from traces of manganese.

It forms in pegmatites, in clear crystals, and its warm shade, from pale pink to peach, gives it an unmistakably romantic air.

It was discovered in 1910, in California and Madagascar, and is one of the “youngest” gemstones.

It was named by George Kunz, Tiffany’s legendary gem expert, after the American collector and banker J.P. Morgan — one of the few stones to bear a tycoon’s name.

For a long time it was a collectors’ secret, until, in the 2010s, the trend for rose gold rings with colored stones turned it into a star of modern engagements.

On platforms like Pinterest and Instagram, the morganite-and-rose-gold ring has become one of the most coveted symbols of a romantic engagement.

Shades range from pale pink to peach or salmon, with a warm, gentle glow.

The finest specimens come from Madagascar, Brazil, and Afghanistan.

Morganite is associated with affection, calm, and inner balance, and is often chosen as a symbol of tender love.

With a hardness of 7,5–8, it’s durable enough for everyday wear, requiring only that you avoid strong impacts.

Clean gently with a soft cloth. This color is beautifully showcased especially in rose gold, but also in 925 silver and yellow gold.
